An Agent Ska style report

In the past two weeks I've been in Oklahoma City, Texas, Los Angeles, Cambridge Massachusetts and Pittsburgh.

My final thoughts are summed up below.

1. I am a successful albeit unintentional tornado chaser. Three tornadoes in 8 days. That's called Agent Ska skill.

2. The shuttle driver in Oklahoma City lost his job a year ago. Last year, his former company suddenly laid off 2,000 employees. It took him 8 months to find employment, finally finding one in the hospitality industry.

3.  People will tell you all kinds of things about their lives when stuck on an airplane for hours on end. Including but definitely not limited to: why they decided to finally propose to their wife, why they came to Pittsburgh, how they are a workaholic who can't get away from work, what they thought they would be doing when they graduated from college, their actual political beliefs, their goals for the future, their favorite hobbies, their kids, their families, and more. Really. I've probably spent a good 10 hours in discussions with random people on airplanes about their lives. I forgot my iPod when I went to Los Angeles and thus I found a lot of time to talk to random people about life. It was worth it.  They've even given me business cards and offered to help me with work.

4. Americans work hard. Really hard. I don't care what people say about Americans being lazy, when I've talked to people, they tell me about how hard it is for them to get away from work. They work weekends, nights, and vacations.

5. To the people at the Boston airport who talked about their country club memberships and then complained about the economy... I hope you employ people.

6.  I am super, super proud of my brother.

7.  My boyfriend's unconditional support makes a world of difference.

8. If given the chance, i would go visit Venice Beach almost every day of my life.

9. Most things worn by Lady Gaga are not meant to be worn by other people.

10.  I have actually learned more than I realized over the past 10 years of my life. I've realized that I really do understand and somehow still remember big chunks of two foreign languages (almost three), data is best when critiqued before being used and every technical term I learned during college has helped me over the past 6 years. Every single one. And they continue to help me more and more every day.

Peace.

Re; Venice Beach the reality ! Looks nice and fun looking in from the outside but live there ( as I did for 5 yrs ) and you become jaded to the glam (?) and you WILL become a victim if there long enough .
The sun and sand , wonderful , the eats and dining , really diverse , the people , desperate and predatory with the odd sprinkling of kindly innocent Earth Shoe wearing idealists . Otherwise a short visit is all you need .

Yea, I could see that being the case. Just out of curiousity, what do you mean by victim?
